We sat down with Belinda to discuss what inspires her design choices and what she loves about this home in Flinders.
How long have you owned 40 St Anns Road, Flinders?
10 years now.
What’s your favourite room in the house?
I love the living area. Sitting on the modular couch and enjoying the views of the native trees and garden through the windows is very relaxing, especially in winter when you can light the fire. It’s a very inviting space.
Do you have a favourite piece of furniture in the house?
I love the chair in the corner of the spare bedroom with herring bone blue and white fabric, it provides a pop of colour to the room and is a sentimental piece - it was a gift from my husband.
How long have you worked as an interior designer?
I started my own company in 2014, and it’s been an exciting journey so far.
Do you have a timeless trend that you always fall back on?
I love a classic style with a fresh approach, using contemporary colours and keeping spaces bright and airy.
Do you have a favourite interior designer?
I love the work by Kit Kemp, she is quite a well known English designer with a great eye for colour and pattern.
Do you have a favourite colour?
I love duck egg blue - it’s a great colour that works well throughout a home, it’s a feature colour at 40 St Anns Road in the kitchen where I’ve used it on the island bench and barn doors.
What do you love most about Flinders?
The small town feel and lovely community which we have connected with over the years. There are so many beautiful walks with views to the ocean and rolling hills. We are spoilt for choice with beautiful restaurants and wineries too.
